Frequently asked questions
Do I need a boat licence for the Tinny?
No. The Tinny has a 4hp motor, which means no Recreational Marine Driver Licence is required in Queensland. You will still need valid photo ID.
Where can I take the Tinny?
The Tinny is best suited to rivers, estuaries, lakes and sheltered waters. We don't recommend taking it into open Moreton Bay. Great spots include the Brisbane River, Wynnum Creek, and calm sections of the Redlands Coast.
Is it good for fishing?
Absolutely. The Tinny is a classic fishing setup — grab your rods, your tackle, some bait and an esky and you're set. BYO fishing gear.
Can I bring kids?
Yes. The Tinny fits 2 adults and 2 children under 12 comfortably. We supply life jackets for all passengers.
How does pick up work?
You collect the Tinny on its trailer from Manly, Brisbane. Self-tow and self-launch. If you need help with launching, just ask — we're happy to walk you through it.
